
Faruk ÇELİK
Minister of Labor and Social Security
Mr. Faruk ÇELİK was born in Yusufeli town of Artvin Province in 1956. He had his primary education in Artvin and his secondary education in Bursa. He graduated from Bursa Higher Islam Institute. He received education in Business Administration at Kocaeli Campus of Yıldız Technical University. Mr. Çelik, who worked as a teacher for four years in a high school, has been engaged in trade in various fields.
He was an owner of a local newspaper and also worked as a columnist for two years.
He began his political life in the party's youth branches. He was Provincial Directorate of Bursa, and served as the Vice President of the Virtue Party.
He had been elected as a 21st term Member of Parliament from Bursa on 18 April 1999. He had been the Membership of the Interior Affairs and the Petition Committees.
Faruk ÇELİK who is one of the founders of the Justice and Development Party had been elected 2nd term as a 22nd term Member of Parliament from Bursa in 2001. He worked as a deputy chairman of the Justice and Development Party for 5 years.
Having been elected 3rd term as a 23rd term Member of Parliament from Bursa on 23 July 2007, he was appointed as Minister of Labour and Social Security and State Minister at the 60th Government.
Mr. Faruk ÇELİK, who has been elected as a 24rd term Member of Parliament from Şanlıurfa on 12 June 2011 and was appointed 2nd time as Minister of Labour and Social Security at the 61st Government, is married and has four children.
